History
The Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is a legend. Friedrich Haerlin, the founder, made out of a small house on the Alster a luxury hostel for distinguished of the imperial period and the Roaring Twenties. The emperor's brother, prince Heinrich, was a regular customer in the Hotel like the famous ship owner Albert Ballin. Imperial officers and a bit later the revolution from November 1918 have heads used- crowned here and star of the UFA enjoyed the hospitality of the house, whose service is unique. Haerlin's son Fritz took over his father's life work in 1932. 1945 the hotel became headquarters of the British crew troops. It was until 1952 that Haerlin got his house back. Again it became the meeting place of the large world. The hotel was the stage for realms, the beautiful and the powerful ones, but also, impostors gave their appearance.
In 1989 the heirs of Haerlin sold the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten to the Japanese co-operation Aoki. From 1997 to 2007 the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten belonged to Raffles International Limited with seat in Singapore. Under the direction of Ingo C. Peters, who has started his career at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten as a bellboy, it became one of the best hotels of the world.
